Month of Peace

1.jpg

The days are growing colder and shorter. Fireplaces are lit in the still mornings and quiet evenings are inviting us to slow down. Light candles, pour big mugs of hot tea, stay in the steamy shower just a little bit longer.

November's theme of Radical Self-Acceptance is PEACE and this month we're reading A Thousand Mornings, a book of poetry by Mary Oliver.

Often when we start to slow down the mind gets busy, and that's okay, it's just the mind doing what it does:

Thinking

Processing

Reflecting.

But sometimes the mind can get away from us, creating stories and anxiety, telling us things that don't serve us or that just aren't true.

We can use meditation as a way to quiet the mind, find clarity, and cultivate inner peace...even just for one moment...

One breath

One inhale

One exhale.

The documented benefits of meditation are plentiful and well researched. For example, with brain scans we can see that a consistent meditation practice actually causes biological changes in the brain. We become more:

Calm

Focused

Empathetic.

And we become less:

Anxious

Stressed

Fatigued.

We create more capacity and find our way back to ourselves. For the month of November, we're offering a Meditation Challenge and we invite you to join us! Set a personal goal to meditate 5, 10, or 15 times this month. We have fun prizes for each goal, including a chance to win a free month of unlimited yoga and meditation. We're here to support you wherever you are in your journey, whether you have meditated before or not. All you need is 30 minutes, we'll take care of the rest. Join us Monday - Friday at 8:30am, 11:30am, or 12:30pm. Investment is just $35 for non-members, free for members. Show up just as you are and watch the transformation.

November is a big month for us; we have a lot of exciting things we can't wait share with you.

Meditation Classes

We have changed all of our meditation classes to 30 minutes. This is a permanent change as of October 29th. After receiving feedback from you, our guests, that extending the length of the classes would be desired, we felt it would benefit each person in our community to have more time to soak in the positive effects of meditation. Come check it out!

Master Class with Susie Newson of Mocean Yoga

On November 12th from 9-11am, join us for The Practice of Remembering ~ A Master Class with Susie Newson. Rise and awaken your spirit to the remembering of your soul’s purpose of why you are here. Join us for free classes all day Wednesday the 14th! We will have special treats all day (donuts, anyone?) and other fun surprises.

We're ending the day with our 1 Year Anniversary Party!

We hope you find moments of peace this month; on the cushion, in the smile of a friend, in the beating of your very own heart. From Mary Oliver:

“Today I’m flying low and I’m

            not saying a word.

I’m letting all the voodoos of ambition sleep.

The world goes on as it must,

the bees in the garden rumbling a little,

the fish leaping, the gnats getting eaten.

            And so forth.

But I’m taking the day off.
            Quiet as a feather.

I hardly move though really I’m travelling

            a terrific distance.

            Stillness. One of the doors

            into the temple.”

With deep gratitude, see you at the studio.
