As spring is settling into the Okanagan valley, the days begin to stretch - elongated by the sun’s lingering afternoons and vibrant colors of nature’s awakening.
Solstice literally means the standing of the sun. The Winter Solstice is the shortest day and the longest night of the year. It asks us to slow down, reflect, and recognize that rest is necessary for growth. The solstice is a time of transition, reminding us to live with hope, the dark will end and the light will come.
Happy August! We hope you are all enjoying the last month of summer. We have loved spending time with you doing yoga on the rooftop and can’t get enough of the beautiful sun.
At Solstice, 2018 is our Year of Radical Self-Acceptance. Each moth we’re exploring a different theme to support the cultivation of greater acceptance for ourselves and each other. August’s theme is COURAGE.
Happy July! We are so happy to be welcoming sunnier days and long, lingering warm evenings. There is a big tree out the window of studio 3 - we love watching as it’s transformed from a dry, brown skeleton to a ball of bright green, flourishing leaves.
2018 is our year of Radical Self-Acceptance. July’s theme is COMPASSION and we’re reading The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.
May is here and we couldn’t be happier to see the sunshine streaming into the studios during our yoga and meditation practices. Early morning classes in studio three are so special right now – overlooking the still-calm lake and watching the sun sweeping across the valley has been a gentle reminder to enjoy the simple things.
